Ethiopia exporting electricity to Kenya

Ethiopia starts exporting electricity to Kenya as per a 25-year contract between the two countries.

The electricity will come from an Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) which can produce atleast 2000 megawatts of electricity per year from the Nile River, which is worth about $100 million per year. This proect has more than doubled Ehiopia current electricity supply output.

Ethiopia already sells electricity to Sudan and Djibouti with South Sudan and Tanzania to follow soon.
