Twitter’s Africa Head Office ask Elon Musk to obey local laws. Local employees say they were offered severance pay less than what is required by local laws.
The team has hired a lawyer, Carla Olympio, and sent a formal letter to Twitter. They are demanding that the company comply with local Ghanaian laws and provide them with additional severance pay and other benefits, comparable to what the other Twitter employees are to receive.
According to CNN, the African employees rejected a “Ghana Mutual Separation Agreement” from Twitter. This letter was sent to the personal emails of the local African employees in which Twitter was offering final pay that the company claims was arrived at after an alleged negotiation.
Elon Musk tweeted in the past that Twitter needs to let go of a large number of employees due to the company loosing $4 million per day.
